Bringing People Back to Place — and Helping Relationships Last.
PLUWFUN is rooted in Fuxing District, Taoyuan, Taiwan.
We work with local youth, cultural practitioners, businesses, travellers and partners to connect local stories, cultural experiences, community action, local economies and digital tools.
We believe meaningful place-based development does not begin with a platform.
It begins with relationships between people and place.
Digital is not the destination. It is a bridge that brings people back to place.

Who We Are
FESU · Cho Wei-Yen
Founder of PLUWFUN | A Place-based Practitioner
FESU has worked closely with communities in Fuxing across youth development, cultural travel, local business connections, digital participation, place-based practice and sustainability impact.
The central question is not simply whether another event has been completed.
It is:
- What remains after the event?
- Do relationships continue?
- Has the place gained more capacity to move forward on its own?
For this reason, PLUWFUN rarely begins with a product or a platform. We begin with a real question emerging from the place itself.

We Build PLUWFUN Together
PLUWFUN has never been built by one person alone.
It has grown through a team of people willing to enter places together, learn together, solve problems together, and turn ideas into action.
Our work spans youth collaboration, cultural interpretation, connections with farmers and small local businesses, visitor experience design, digital tools, documentation, and sustainability impact.
Some of us guide.
Some design.
Some document.
Some help young people turn a first idea into real action.
And some keep returning to local businesses and communities, reconnecting people who might otherwise remain apart.
We believe:
Place-based collaboration is not about doing everything ourselves.
It is about bringing together people who are willing to build something together.

Why Is It Called PLUWFUN?
At its heart, PLUWFUN means: come experience the tribal community together.
The name PLUWFUN grew from a simple hope behind our place-based work.
We wanted travellers not only to pass through Fuxing, but to enter local communities, understand the place, and build relationships with the people who live there.
At the same time, we wanted to connect with young people, farmers, small shops, local brands, and cultural practitioners who were willing to work together.
The name combines two ideas:
PLUW
In the founder’s naming concept, PLUW was inspired by the Tayal expression and sound associated with “with” and “together.”
For PLUWFUN, it represents: togetherness, companionship, and connection.
FUN
The English word fun represents: play, experience, participation, and the joy of discovering a place.
Together:
PLUWFUN
Come experience the tribal community together.
But “fun” does not mean simply consuming a destination.
It can mean walking a route, hearing a story, meeting an elder, entering a small local shop, tasting local food, or beginning a conversation with someone you did not know before.
For us:
PLUWFUN is more than a travel brand.
It is a name for bringing people into place — and reconnecting people through place.

A Circle of Connection
The PLUWFUN logo carries the same idea.
Its flowing circular form represents ongoing connections between people, place, and relationships.
The flying squirrel at its centre reflects the mountain landscape of Fuxing and the idea of moving between people, places, and stories — guiding and connecting along the way.
The many colours reflect the diversity of local life: mountains, culture, youth, local industries, farming, small businesses, and the stories created through each encounter.
PLUWFUN exists to help these different energies form an ongoing cycle of connection.
The Problem We See
Places are not lacking in resources. The challenge is that many of them remain disconnected.
- Young people are taking action.
- Local businesses are working every day.
- Cultural practitioners carry stories.
- Travellers arrive and leave.
- Events happen.
- Digital platforms continue to grow.
But without lasting relationships, much of that momentum disappears when an event ends.
Our work is therefore:
Not to create more events, but to reconnect the people, stories and opportunities that already exist.
How We Work
People → Place → Experience → Digital → People Again
01
Human Guided
People first enter the place through human relationships and local guidance.
02
Embodied Learning
Walking, eating, listening, making and conversation create understanding.
03
Digital Self-guided
Stories and routes become digital tools that allow people to continue exploring independently.
04
Local Encounter
Visitors encounter real businesses, creators and everyday places.
05
Evidence & Learning
Participation, use, redemption, travel and impact are recorded to improve what comes next.
Not a Theory. Work Already Underway.

Youth
Youth
Supporting young people to move from participation to proposal-making, experimentation and local action.
Culture

Turning local stories and cultural knowledge into experiences people can understand and enter respectfully.
Local Economy
Local Economy
Using digital tools to bring visitors into real local businesses, products and services.
Music & Place
Music & Place
Creating conditions for culture to happen repeatedly — not only when a funded event or commercial performance exists.

What We Believe
Culture-led
Culture is not content to be extracted. It is where we begin.
Youth-powered
Young people are not only participants. They are co-builders of place.
Locally connected
Impact begins when new relationships form between people and place.
Sustainability-minded
Sustainability is not a label. It is knowing what each action actually leaves behind.
From Stories to Evidence
We believe the value of local work should not exist only inside a final report.
PLUWFUN is gradually connecting travel, youth action, local economic participation, cultural engagement and environmental impact with evidence that can be traced and understood.
Observed results and modelled estimates are clearly separated.
What is verified is presented as verified.
What is still pending is not presented as completed impact.
